Abu Muhammad Abdullah b. Ahmad Sarakhsi (293 – 381 AH). Imam, reliable muhaddith and musnid. His report of Sahih Bukhari via Firabri is highly regarded. Abu Abbas Hajjar (d. 730) had a very high quality sanad to him in which he links to him with 3 person in between.

The Imam, honest muhaddith, and musnid, Abu Muhammad Abdullah b. Ahmad b. Himwayh b. Yusuf b. A’yun. The khatib of Sarakhs.
He heard the Sahih [of Imam Bukhari] from Abu Abdullah Firabri in 316 AH. He heard Musnad Kabir and Tafsir of Abd b. Humayd from Ibrahim b. Khuzaym Shashi. He heard Musnad Darimi from Isa b. Umar Samarqandi who narrated from [the author].

- Hf. Abu Yaqub Ishaq b. Ibrahim Qarrab
- Muhammad b. Abdus Samad Turabi Marwazi
- Ali b. Abdullah Harawi
- Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Mahmud
- Abu Hasan Abdur Rahman b. Muhammad Dawudi
Abu Zarr said, “I read to him and he is thiqah (reliable) and a person of good principle.”
I say that he has corpus of hadith. He counted all the chapters of the Sahih and all the hadith within. Sh. Muhiuddin Nawawi mentions these in his commentary of Sahih Bukhari.
His ahadith is reported with an ‘ali sanad (few links)in the year 730 AH via Abu Abbas Hajjar.
His birthdate in 293 AH. Abu Yaqub Qarrab said, “He passed away two days remaining the end of Zul Hijjah, 381 AH.”
